Song Doctor Workshop

The NC Songwriters Co-op's new Song Doctor is Kirk Ridge, Ph.D.  He has been writing songs for over 20 years, was chosen as a finalist in the 2008 Austin, TX Songwriters Competition, and was featured in 2009 on NPR's Car Talk and in American Songwriters Magazine.  The new release from Kirk's band Black Dog Syndrome was recently named one of the top indy rock CDs of 2009 by RadioIndy.com.

Kirk's philosophy about songwriting: "The most important thing is to enjoy the creative moment and to keep on writing. Beyond that, there are tools and revision strategies that experienced songwriters develop to move songs to the next level. Please join us at the Song Doctor sessions.  If you just want to play your song for us, that's great. If you want some feedback, we can do that too. Mainly, we'll just sit around and share some music."
