North Carolina Songwriters Co-Op

Jam Circle
Hey!  How long has it been since someone asked you if you can come out and play?  The NC Songwriters Co-op is asking you now.  Join us on the second Sunday of every month from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM.

  • Play your own songs.
  • Play your favorite covers.
  • Jam with your fellow musicians in the circle or ask them to listen to you perform solo.
  • Ask for optional feedback to help hone your songwriting, or performance or both.
  • Jam Circles are open to all musicians -- Members and Non-Members of the NC Songwriters Co-op.

From October 2007-May 2008, the Co-op's Jam Circle was held at the Durham Arts Council in downtown Durham, NC (this was made possible in part part by a Durham Arts Council Facilities Grant).

Effective June 2008-beyond, the Jam Circle will be held at a private location (currently a member's home); please email jam@ncsongwriters.org for additional information and driving directions!  We look forward to seeing you soon.

HOW THE JAM CIRCLE WORKS:
  • Players take turns for 1 song each in rotation. The Jam Leader picks the starting point and direction.
  • Circle players are welcome to play along unless asked not to by the Player Up.
  • Feedback is optional, but Jam Leader may limit discussion and move to next Player Up.
  • Most important rule is to have fun -- this is play-time for musicians.
